先日、北海道にあるエサンペ鼻北小島が消失したというニュースが流れました。実はこの島2014年にようやく名前がつけられた小さな無人島でした。
『幻島図鑑』にはこの島の消失を最初に発見した著者による同島を含む17の島を紹介したルポルタージュです。あると思った島が消失していたというインパクトも相当ですが、無人島だけだけでなく、人口が１人の島に人工島までど島と言っても本当に多様です。
長崎県にある宇々島の困窮島という仕組み、とても面白いなと思いました。
